Yes, St. Gabriel Consolidated School is an EdChoice provider.  Please see the EdChoice website to determine if your student is eligible for an EdChoice or EdChoice expansion scholarship.

To maintain an educational program of the highest possible quality and to meet the student needs to the fullest extent possible, the maximum enrollment of students in any class is 25.

Additional students will be placed on a waiting list which expires annually on the last day of January.

Each grade K-8 attends Mass at least two times monthly. Masses are held on Thursdays at 8:20 a.m. in St. Gabriel Church. All parents are welcome to attend student masses.

Religion classes are held daily in grades K-8 unless the children attend worship.  All students, Catholic and non-Catholic alike, attend worship and study religious doctrine.

Tuition is determined annually by the Board of Pastors.  Tuition fees for the 2020-2021 school year for active parishioners is $4,225 (grades 1-8), $4,325 (Kindergarten).  Subsidies are available, for those who qualify, through the individual parishes of St. Gabriel, St. Maximilian Kolbe, and St. John churches by completing the FACTS form on-line.

Tuition for the 2020-2021 school year for non-parish families is $4,825 (grades 1-8), $4,925 (Kindergarten).

All families (parish and non-parish) will be assessed a $175 non-refundable registration fee at the time of registration.

FACTS is the service we use for our tuition payments.  All families will need to sign up for FACTS online.  Please see the FACTS information sheet in your registration folder for more detailed information.

Hot lunch is served daily at a cost of $3.00 (subject to change).  Students have a choice of the main  entrée or a PBJ sandwich every day.  (Students 2nd grade and up also can choose a chef salad)  Students may also pack their lunch and purchase milk at a cost of 50 cents per carton.   Parents will have access to account balances on-line.

Registration for the following school year is held at St. Gabriel Consolidated School beginning in January for families eligible for parish related tuition and after Open House for non-parish families.

After school care is available to all students enrolled at St. Gabriel Consolidated School.  After School Care is open every day that school is in session from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m.  All students must be picked up no later than 6:00 p.m., or a late fee will be charged.  A $20.00 registration fee is required to secure a spot in the After School Care program.  The fee is $10.00/day per child and you will be billed monthly.

GIRLS UNIFORM
Grade 1-4: Plaid uniform jumper from Schoolbelles. Length should be no shorter than 3 inches above the knee.
Grade 5: Plaid uniform skirt or jumper from Schoolbelles. Length should be no shorter than 3 inches above the knee.
Grades 6-8: Plaid uniform skirt from Schoolbelles. Length should be no shorter than 3 inches above the knee.
Pants: Plain navy blue only, no corduroy. No pants are to be worn under jumpers or skirts.
Belts: Must be worn (grades 1 – 8 ). No pants may have belt loops cut off. Belts may be black, blue or brown. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE KINDERGARTEN.
Shirt: White, long or short sleeve, oxford or uniform blouse or knit shirt. TUCKED IN. If an additional shirt is worn underneath the uniform shirt, it must be plain white with no writing.
Sweater: Solid navy blue or solid white, no ornamentation.
Sweatshirt: ONLY a St. Gabriel Consolidated School sweatshirt or fleece or a plain, solid navy blue or white sweatshirt with no ornamentation may be worn. Non St. Gabriel sweatshirts are not allowed even as a jacket. No hooded sweatshirts are allowed. Sweatshirt order form can be found on the Forms page.
Shoes: Dress or gym. No sandals, clogs, flip flops, boots, etc.
Socks: Navy blue or white knee hi socks or anklets. Socks must be worn and MUST BE VISIBLE above the shoe tops. White or navy blue tights from October 1 – March 31.  Plain navy blue leggings may be worn under the skirt/jumper from October 1 – March 31.
Hair: Hair coloring which creates a distraction or draws specific attention to an individual person is not acceptable. Hair color must be a naturally occurring color.
Jewelry: Small post earrings, simple chain and/or watch. NO jewelry during gym class. Wrist bands or bracelets are to be limited to one per wrist.
Make-Up: Make-up is not permitted to be worn.
School I.D. Badge: School I.D. Badge must be worn on the shirt collar each day.
Shorts: Navy blue walking shorts, same material as uniform slacks, may be worn in August, September, May and June. NAVY BLUE SKORTS ARE NOT PART OF UNIFORM,
Gym: Tee shirts, shorts and gym shoes (for grades 4-8). Gym shoes must be worn for all grades.
Out of Uniform Days: Students must dress appropriately. No cutoffs or any other clothing that does not keep the midsection and shoulders covered completely. Shorts must be of reasonable length.

Spirit Days:  Every Friday is a St. Gabriel Spirit Day.  Official St. Gabriel spirit attire may be worn with regular uniform bottoms.
Uniform jumpers and skirts must be purchased from the uniform stores; however, pants and shorts can be from other outlets such as Lands’ End, L.L. Bean, Sears or any other department store. They just need to be navy blue and cotton.
BOYS UNIFORM
Pants: Plain navy blue; NO cargo or corduroy pants.
Shirt: Solid white or pale blue, short or long sleeves; oxford or knit. No ornamentation or symbols. TUCKED IN. If an additional shirt is worn under the uniform shirt, it must be plain white with no writing.
Belt: Must be worn (grades 1 – 8). No pants may have belt loops cut off. Belts may be black, blue or brown. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE KINDERGARTEN.

Facial Hair: Facial hair is not permitted – student must be clean shaven at school.
School I.D. Badge: School I.D. Badge must be worn on the shirt collar each day.

Conferences:
Parent-Teacher Conferences are held in November, following the first grading period. Day and evening hours are available for scheduling a time with the teacher.

Directory:
Each family, upon joining the PTO, receives a directory. It includes class lists, school year calendar, contact information and an alphabetical listing of all families enrolled at SGCS (address, phone number and e-mail address, if applicable).

Kindergarten Parent Orientation:
This meeting is held during our Meet the Teacher Day in August and allows the parents of kindergartners to meet their child’s teacher and learn more about the kindergarten curriculum. Classroom volunteer opportunities are usually offered at this meeting.

Meet the Teacher:
An orientation for all families is held in August. This gives the students and parents an opportunity to meet their teachers for the upcoming year as well as join PTO and scouts and purchase spiritwear.

New Parent Orientation:
An orientation for parents new to the school is held in August, prior to the start of school. New parents can enjoy hospitality provided by the PTO and hear an overview of SGCS curriculum and activities.

Parent/Student Handbook:
The Parent/Student Handbook is distributed to all school families during the early weeks of school. It contains the policies and procedures of the school and is a very valuable source of information. Click here to view the Handbook.

Parent/Teacher Organization (PTO):
The PTO Board includes the positions of President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. You may contact board members with your questions and concerns by sending a note addressed to the board to school or by sending an email to pto@stgabeschool.org.

Open House:
Our Open House is held in late January during Catholic Schools Week.

Online Gradebook Access:
Parents with students in grades 4-8 may view their child’s grades online using Progress Book.

Telephone Message System:
SGCS utilizes the services of a company to help us get messages to all families in a quick fashion in case of emergencies, snow delays or simply just a reminder of an early dismissal. This system gives us the ability to create a voice message for all families or a specific group of families who need to receive a specific message. This message may be sent to your home phone, cell phone and work phone.

Thursday E-Envelope:
A weekly packet of information for all school families will be posted every Thursday on Progress Book.

Snow Days:
If the decision is made to close before the school day begins, the principal will contact the media. We do not follow a specific school district’s procedures. Please look for an announcement that St. Gabriel Consolidated School is closed or delayed. You may also receive a phone call via our emergency phone service.

Voicemail:
Each teacher and administrator has individual voicemail available. This service provides parents with the best means to contact teachers with questions or concerns about their child.
