Philosophy and School Policies: Kindergarten provides an organized transition from home and pre-school activities into a formalized school setting. Genuine care for the individual and the development of the child socially and academically is at the heart of our program. The same philosophy and school policies which apply to all students at SGCS applies to Kindergarten.
School Day:  Kindergarten is a full day class from 8:05 a.m. until 2:40 p.m.
Curriculum: A full program is offered following state and Archdiocesan guidelines. Included in the curriculum are:

Registration: All children must register prior to attending school. They must be five by September 30th of the current year and provide a copy of their birth certificate and social security number. All children registering for Kindergarten must pass a Kindergarten screening before being eligible to attend our program.

Children are eligible for early entrance testing if they are five before the first day of January. Testing will be administered by the local public school district’s psychologist, who will determine early admission.

School classroom activities for holidays always need an extra hand. Room parents assist the teachers during these special times.
