Congratulations Class of 2006!
  • Five students placed in the Top 40 when tested for admission at Roger Bacon, including the top score of all students tested - she received a $20,000 scholarship.  
  • One student received a $2,500 leadership scholarship from Roger Bacon.  
  • One student received a $10,000 scholarship from Roger Bacon.
  • One student has been accepted to St. Ursula with a full scholarship.
  • Four students have been admitted to Moeller with Academic Distinction.
  • Nine students have been recognized as Julie Billiart Distinguished Honorees at Mount Notre Dame.
  • One student received a St. Francis Xavier Scholar award which means he scored in the top 3 percent nationally on the Xavier test.
  • One student received a scholarship at Fenwick.
  • L. Hary and N. Schwieterman have been named LaRosa's 2006 Buddy Card Scholarship Winners, with each receiving a $500 scholarship.

M. Widman (SGCS '03, Ursuline Academy '07) has been named a National Merit Semifinalist.

M. Horne (SGCS '03, MND '07) earned Honorable Mention at the University of Dayton Model United Nations.  A. Gerth (SGCS '05, MND '09) was awarded Distinguished Delegate representing Colombia.
G. Smith (SGCS '02, Fenwick '06) was honored with the Middletown Business & Professional Women's Club Accounting Award.
M. Griffin (SGCS '02, Fenwick '06) was honored with the Sebald Foundation Business Award.

Several of our graduates have received top honors in their high school graduating class – including THREE valedictorians in 2004 for Mt. Notre Dame, Fenwick, Roger Bacon. Also, our graduates received MND Valedictorian in 2006, MND Salutatorian in 2003, and Moeller Salutatorian in 2003.

L. Hong (SGCS '02, MND '06) was recognized as a National Merit Scholar Finalist. 
L. Hong (SGCS '02, MND '06) was the MND Valedictorian in 2006, received the Award for Academic Excellence and was a finalist in the 2006 Overture Awards in the category of Creative Writing. 
 C. Brown (SGCS '02, MND '06)  was named an Outstanding National Achievement Scholarship Program participant and was recognized by the Program for scoring in the top 5% for African-American students. This was based on performance on the PSAT/NMSQT qualifying test.
J. Dean (SGCS '02, MND '06) has accepted an academic scholarship to Denison University and has signed to play soccer for them in 2006-07.  She also received the MND Excellence in Social Studies award.  J. Dean also was named to the Dean's List at Denison.

L. Montour (SGCS '03, MND '07), softball team member, received the Julie Costello Memorial Scholarship which is awarded to a sophomore or junior who is a student athlete and has maintained honor roll status. 

  L. Lingardo is an AP Scholar with Honors for earning an average of 3.25 on all AP exams and grades of 3 or higher on 4 or more exams.  L. Hong is an AP Scholar for earning 3 or higher on 3 or more AP exams.

A. Keppler earned the Scholar-Athlete award in Soccer from the Girls Greater Catholic League in 2005.

In 2005, at least nine of our graduates earned academic scholarships towards their high school tuition.

Three of our graduates participated in an exchange program with students from Australia. They were selected based on their academic standing.

P. Widmann was honored in 2005 by winning a citywide essay contest entitled Dear Mr. President, sponsored by The Cincinnati Enquirer and The Cincinnati Post’s Newspapers In Education program and Provident Bank.

S. Robinson passed 6 advanced placement tests as a senior at Mt. Notre Dame, entering St. Mary’s College with 29 credits already completed.  She was named to the Dean's List at Saint Mary's College.

M. Robinson was the valedictorian at St. Mary’s College in 2003.

OUR GRADUATES ARE RECOGNIZED FOR THEIR LEADERSHIP AND THEIR SERVICE
T. Kodros (SGCS '02, Fenwick '06) won the Charles R. Hook Foundation Citizenship Award.
L.Montour (SGCS '03, MND '07) served as President of the National Honor Society at Mount Notre Dame for 2006-07.

M. Motz (SGCS '02, Moeller '06) received the Blessed Father Chaminade Service Award at Moeller High School.  This award is presented to the student who, in countless ways, has given service to the school.  In addition to service to the school community, the student has also given service to his church and to the larger civic community.  The student not only participated in service opportunities but also demonstrated leadership in service, activities and programs.  He will be attending the University of Dayton.

A. Scheidler(SGCS '02, Moeller'06) received the Man of Moeller award.  This award is presented to a member of the graduating class who best exemplifies the type of graduate the school aims to develop. It is presented to the student who exemplifies good character, a solid spiritual life shared with members of the community, academic excellence, a willingness to give service, and participates in all types of school activities.  He will be attending the University of Dayton.

G. Robinson (SGCS '02, Moeller '06) received the Gold Shield Award.  The Alumni Association presents this award to a member of the graduating class who exemplifies good character, a solid spiritual life, academic excellence, a willingness to serve, and participates in various school activities.  He will be attending the University of Notre Dame.

B. Burks (SGCS '02, MND '06) served as Editor of the school's new Paw Prints quarterly newspaper.

G. Motz won the Blessed Father Chaminade Service Award at Moeller for Leadership and Service in 2004.

Several of our graduates have received the St. Julie Billart Christian Leadership Award at Mt. Notre Dame HS in 2004, 2001, and 1999.

A. Constantinesco was the Student Council President at MND in 2004-05. P. Gruber was the Moeller Senior Class president, 2003.  A. Joseph served as an MND Sophomore Class Officer and A. Scheidler served as a Moeller Junior Class Officer.

G. Robinson served as the Executive Director and M. Motz as the Assistant Director of Moeller Pastoral Ministry.
A. Scheidler was the School Captain for Moeller (student leader of the House System) and C. DeNicola was one of two Vice-Captains. M. Morgan was the Eveslage House Captain.  
R. Kodros ('00 SGCS, '04 Fenwick) is a Lance Corporal in the USMC.

Our graduates have earned the Girl Scout Gold Award and the Boy Scout Eagle Award.

OUR GRADUATES EXCEL IN ATHLETICS
S. Dean(SGCS '07, Moeller '11) won the GCL Freshman wrestling championship 130 lb weight class and took 3rd in the state tournament for Winter 2007.

L. Montour(SGCS '03, MND '07) was recently nominated for the Wendy's-Heisman trophy at MND.  Single gender schools can nominate one student only.  She made it to the state finals.

M. Mutlu (SGCS '02, Fenwick '06) received the Kyle Babcock Memorial Soccer Award and the Mid Miami League South Honorable Mention award for Tennis.
G. Smith (SGCS '02, Fenwick '06) received the John Schwab, Jr. Memorial Football Award.
M. Griffin (SGCS '02, Fenwick '06) received the "Golden Boot" award for Boys Soccer.
M. Wallace (SGCS '04 Fenwick '08) received the Mid Miami League South All League Honorable Mention for Girls Track & Field (4X100 Team).
L. Montour (SGCS '03, MND '07) earned 1st team GGCL for softball in 2005 & 2006; 2nd team GGCL in 2004.

M. Jones was the leading point scorer on Mt. Notre Dame’s state winning basketball team and a starter for the University of Cincinnati Women's team.

M. Giesting (SGCS '03, St. X '07), P. Macke (SGCS '03, St. X '07) and T. Sander (SGCS '03, St. X '07) were members of the St. Xavier championship football team. 

A. Scheidler was the starting center for Moeller's district finalist football team in 2004, and C. DeNicola and B. Sharp were also on the varsity football team.
K. Ryan (Roger Bacon) and J. Dean (Mt. Notre Dame) were both selected as their school’s High School Heismann nominee, an honor based on their academic and athletic ability, their leadership, and their service contributions.
J. Dean earned 2nd team soccer honors in the Girls Greater Cincinnati League in 2004 and was elected to the Southwest Ohio All City First Soccer Team as well as the Girls Greater Cincinnati League First Team.
  B. Uetrecht captained the Baldwin Wallace men's club volleyball team to a third place tie in Division II of the 2008 National tournament held in Dallas, Texas. He has been a four year starter for the team, making the change from outside hitter to setter just this year.
OUR GRADUATES STAR ON THE STAGE
D.  Goldbach (SGCS '04, Moeller '08) earned a spot in the Improv cast performing at Moeller.
  C. Gray (SGCS '06, Roger Bacon '10) was selected to perform in the 2006 Ohio Music Education Association District XIV's High School Honor Band.  
The 2005-06 Cappies Gala (which recognizes excellence in area high school theatre programs) included the following nominations.  For the categories of Costumes and Best Critic Team was C. Brown (SGCS '02, MND '06) .  For the categories of Best Female Critic and Best Critic Team was L. Hong (SGCS '02, MND '06).
E. Motz (SGCS '05, MND '09), a member of the Moeller High School Band, was part of the Symphonic Winds Tour.

Several of our graduates recently earned roles in "Romeo and Juliet" at Moeller.

E. Cieslak auditioned and was accepted into the UC CCM Musical Theatre 2 year program.

E. Lambert, K. Jones and L. Allen competed with the varsity MND Cougar Dance Team, which placed among the top 3 teams at Nationals for 3 years.

J. Robinson received the city-wide Golden Galaxy Award in Speech and Drama in 2003.

We are very proud of our graduates! They are so successful it is hard for us to keep up with everything. If we have missed something that should be included here, please contact SGCS at computer.lab@stgabeschool.org so we can include it in future publications. We think there must be something very good going on in that old SGCS building - not a whole lot of glitz, but something of value - maybe "Values for a Lifetime"!
