St. Gabriel Consolidated School serves the parishioners of St. Gabriel, St. John-West Chester, St. Matthias, and St. Maximilian Kolbe. Our first priority is to educate students from these parishes as space permits. Families of registered students must be active members of their respective parishes and approved by the pastors.

Class space will be allocated as follows:

Present students approved by pastors and/or principal with registration forms returned by February 12, 2016 and all tuition and fees current. For registrations not returned by February 12, 2016, Item #3 will apply. For ALL students, tuition and fees must be paid in full by April 29, 2016.

Siblings of present students K-8, who are members of the four (4) parishes, or Kindergarten siblings of present non-parish students.

In grades K-8 new entrants from the four (4) parishes approved by pastors, if there is space, by lottery, February 16, 2016.

Siblings of present non-parish students 1-8 provided the class is not filled as of February 29th.

Non-parish students can register, if there is space, in K-8 beginning February 29th. Non-parish students in grades 4-8 must provide a copy of the most current report card, a copy of the current ETR, IEP or Services Plan, if applicable and be interviewed by the Principal before registration is complete and an admission determination is made.

Admission of students with special needs will be determined on a case by case basis by the administration. A current ETR, IEP or Services Plan must be provided with registration paperwork. Admission with an ETR, IEP or Services Plan will be determined on a case by case basis.

New students are not accepted after the 1st trimester of school, unless they are new parish members, just moving into one of the four (4) parishes from outside parish boundaries, and if there is space. Exceptions to this rule will be determined by the building principal.

The waiting list of St. Gabriel Consolidated School ceases on the last day of January. It begins anew on February 16th of the current year.

To maintain an educational program of the highest possible quality and to meet the student needs to the fullest extent possible, the maximum enrollment of students in any class is 25.

Additional students will be placed on a waiting list which expires annually on the last day of January.

Telephone Message System:
SGCS utilizes the services of two companies to help us get messages to all families in a quick fashion in case of emergencies, snow delays or simply just a reminder of an early dismissal. These systems give us the ability to create a voice message for all families or a specific group of families who need to receive a specific message. This message may be sent to your home phone, cell phone and work phone.

Thursday E-Envelope:
A weekly packet of information for all school families will be posted every Thursday on Progress Book.

Snow Days:
If the decision is made to close before the school day begins, the principal will contact the media. We do not follow a specific school district’s procedures. Please look for an announcement that St. Gabriel Consolidated School is closed or delayed. You may also receive a phone call via our emergency phone service.

Voicemail:
Each teacher and administrator has individual voicemail available. This service provides parents with the best means to contact teachers with questions or concerns about their child.

Each classroom is equipped with 2-4 computers that students may use to take AR tests or for drill & practice programs. Additionally, all students attend computer lab at least once a week. SMART boards, interactive large screens combining several technologies including laptops, DVD players and the internet, are used regularly in all classrooms including the music/library room. We have launched a junior high iPad program for 7th & 8th grade students as well as a mobile iPad lab for grades K-6.

1. Families of current and parish affiliated students will begin the registration process on January 17, 2016. Forms are due by February 12, 2016. All other families will begin registration on February 29, 2016. All registrations will be handled through the school office and will be on-going until classes are full. A $175 registration fee is required per family. This fee is non-refundable and does not apply to tuition or school fees.

2. All parish families eligible for parish related tuition will be given information about FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment. Each family seeking a parish subsidy will make application through FACTS. Each parish will determine the amount of subsidy based upon the information obtained from FACTS and the monies each parish has available for this purpose. A fee of $28 paid directly to FACTS will be assessed.
Click here for FACTS Parent Letter.
Click here to apply for financial aid through FACTS.

3. All families must enroll in and have tuition collected through Tuition Management Systems unless tuition is paid in its entirety by June 30th. If tuition is not paid in full by June 30th, families will have the option of a ten-month payment plan beginning on July 1st or 15th and ending on April 1st or 15th. Families may also choose to pay quarterly or semi-annually. Tuition Management Systems will permit payment by check or electronic transfer. Families will have the opportunity to choose a 1st of the month OR 15th of the month payment due date. There is a fee of $45.00 for this service if paid monthly; $35, quarterly; and $20, semi-annually. These fees are paid directly to the company. If tuition is paid in full by June 30th, no fee will be assessed.

4. Any student who attends any part of the school trimester and withdraws will be charged for the trimester in which the withdrawal takes place.

5. A list of registered students by parish will be sent to each parish by March 2nd to determine family eligibility for parish status. Each parish must verify this list by March 16th. Additions and deletions to this list will be sent by the school to the parish office as they occur. Parishes will notify the school if movement occurs from the parish as it happens.

6. Parish subsidies will be sent to the school on a schedule deemed appropriate for each parish. The schedule is generally a monthly payment beginning in July.

7. The Tuition Management System will keep the school aware of late or non-payment of tuition. Circumstances may arise within a family where tuition payments are delayed. Families need to communicate these circumstances to the principal prior to payment due date.

On the third non-payment of tuition, the family will be referred to the school finance committee by the principal or his/her designee.

A recommendation by the school finance committee to the principal will be made regarding the continued attendance by the family. The principal will have the final determination.

8. Kindergarten Tuition will be $100.00 more than tuition for grades 1-8.

9. Tuition for the following school year should be established no later than the January Pastors’ meeting.

St. Gabriel Consolidated School serves the following parishes: St. Maximilian Kolbe (Liberty Township), St. John (West Chester), St. Matthias (Forest Park), and St. Gabriel (Glendale).

Registration for the upcoming school year is held in three separate steps:
I. Current students and siblings are registered for the upcoming school year through February 12th. This would include any potential Kindergarten students.

II. If you are a member of one of the above listed parishes, registration forms due by February 12th to the school. Please check with the school office for paperwork or procedures. Admission will be by lottery on February 16th.

III. If you are not an affiliated member of one of the above listed parishes or you are not Catholic, registration will begin February 29th, if space is available. School hours for registration on February 29th will begin at 7:00 a.m.

All new students (parish and non-parish) registering in grades 4-8 will need to provide the following:

A. Interview with our Principal
B. Copy of current report card
C. Copy of current ETR, IEP or Service Plan, if applicable

After the interview and a review of all documentation, a determination will be made regarding the student’s acceptance and notification will be sent to the child’s parents. New students are not accepted after the 1st trimester of school unless they are new parish members, just moving into one of the four (4) parishes from outside boundaries, and if there is space. Exceptions to this rule will be determined by the building principal.

As it is imperative that appropriate services are available for children with special needs, admission determinations for children with special needs will be made on a case by case basis once all records have been reviewed by the Principal.

Our Open House will be on Wednesday, February 3rd, 2016 from 6:30pm – 8:30pm.

Registration forms are available on our Forms page.
