SGCS Sports Creed

Be grateful for the abilities which God has given you. Do your best, and be proud of your accomplishments.
Be a humble winner, and a gracious loser. Nobody likes a poor sport.
Be patient and forgiving of others who are new to the sport. Remember, others were patient while you were learning.
Have your priorities in order. Allow adequate time for your family, school work and worship.
Don’t let your teammates down. They depend on you as much as you depend on them.
Treat your body with respect. Eat well, rest, exercise, and stay away from unhealthy, abusive substances.
Don’t be arrogant when someone is trying to help you. Remember there is always someone who knows more than you do.
Always play fair. It’s a measure of your integrity.

SGCS Boosters Mission Statement

The mission of the St. Gabriel Consolidated School (hereafter abbreviated, SGCS Boosters) Booster Program is to further the mission of the Catholic Church by providing sports experiences for youth that are firmly rooted in the Catholic faith tradition, based on the goals of Catholic youth ministry, and aligned with the evangelizing mission of the Catholic Church. Additionally, the SGGS Booster Program seeks to emphasize in and for our youth, the development of athletic skills, knowledge of the sport, and good sportsmanship honed in an environment, which encourages the participation of all children. SGCS Boosters will organize, coordinate, and sustain high quality athletics experiences for our students and parishioners that build up their faith, character, virtues, self confidence, communication, and leadership skills in the context of athletics. We will stand in for Jesus when he says, “Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matt 19:14.
