Cougar Athletic Registration News
Registration for Winter (3rd through 8th grade) begins now and runs until September
19. Winter sports include Boys Basketball and Girls
Volleyball. Practices for basketball begin in November and games start in
December. Girls volleyball starts practice in December and games
start in January. Games are usually on weekends, though there
might be one on a weekday evening
Unfortunately, we recently learned that we will no longer be
able to use St. Francis gym and the remaining gym options come
at a higher cost. The higher gym costs mean we find it necessary
to raise the fees, beginning with the winter sports season this
year, to $125. The family maximum will remain at $400 for this
year to help families transition to the higher fee.
Registrations received after September 19 will be added to teams
provided there is room, and a late fee of $20 will be charged.
All forms are located on the SGCS
website's Forms page. If you are unable to access the
website, please call or email Laura Hendy, 779-7466, ,
and she will send you a hard copy of the forms.

All Coaches and assistant coaches must have completed the Archdiocesan Child Protection process of being fingerprinted
at an Archdiocesan approved location and completing the Child Protection Orientation. Fingerprinting can be done at St. Max Parish,
please consult their bulletin or click
here for details. For other Archdiocesan locations go to http://www.catholiccincinnati.org/admin/fingerprint_sites.htm.
Coaches also must sign and submit the Coach's
Code of Conduct (assistant coaches under the age of
16 are not required to meet the Archdiocese Child Protection
requirements, however a second adult who HAS completed the
requirements must be in attendance at all practices and
games). The Sport Coordinator may also ask you to complete
an application as well. All coaches need to be approved by
the Booster Board before the season starts.
